“Hellllllllo everybody, it’s Stampy here!” I’ve heard that line countless times from my seven-year-old son, but never understood what it actually meant. Yes, I may be living under a rock.
I think I have finally figured it out.
Turns out “Stampy” is an international YouTube sensation — the alter-ego of Joseph Garrett, one of the the biggest names in online gaming. You may have heard of this little thing called MINECRAFT, for which Garrett is adored for videos in “Stampy’s Lovely World.”
Released earlier this month, this is the first book by Garrett — and he hits a home run — my little guy loved it! The book captures the essence of Stampy’s personality and enthusiasm letting readers join him on adventures blending activities, tips and exclusive insight about Stampy and his friends and even features a “Stampy Cake” recipe, comic strip and silly challenges.
Targeted at children 7 – 10 years old, the hardcover book is 72 pages of fun. And at less than $7 on Amazon, I recommend buying a few copies to keep on-hand for birthday gifts! Total hit!!!
Honestly (the only kind of review I would offer), I can tell you that the copy of “Stampy’s Lovely Book” that I received to review was a big hit with my little Stampy/Minecraft fan — and I would not hesitate purchase on my own. I give this wine an enthusiastic, Fonzie-style “thumbs up.”
Love the book for my little guy, but please don’t ask me to play Minecraft.
I. Just. Can’t.
