First of all, Merry Christmas to all. And for that matter, “Happy Everything” to everyone (whatever holiday you may celebrate this time of the year). Today, I turn 40-years-old. While some dread this milestone, I welcome it with open arms. This is the first day of the rest of my life. Until now, I have always been everything to everyone else – a loving mother, devoted wife, dedicated daughter, faithful friend, loyal employee and your everyday Good Samaritan. Don’t get me wrong, I love being all these things to all those people, and will continue to be each of them, but I do not remember the last time I did something JUST. FOR. ME.
I have always loved to write. I do not claim to be a fabulous writer, but I think I can hold my own. I have some interesting things to say – sometimes funny, sometimes sappy, and sometimes the sh*t you may be thinking but have too much decency to let yourself say out loud (please, let me do it for you…I have no filter!)
Here is a very brief “get to know me” paragraph. My name is Leigh-Mary Hoffmann. I have a wonderful husband named Ernie and five (yes, five!) beautiful children. Three of these kiddies are a result of my first marriage. There is Maggie – my 11 year old girl who happens to have Autism and is a total ROCK STAR! Joey is nine years old, funny, handsome and has the “moves like Jagger” (seriously, he would give the King of Pop a run for his money if M.J. was still around). Then there is Ryan (aka: The Boy) – my five-year-old “baby.” I think my husband thinks I “baby” him too much, but that’s my job!
I also have two beautiful stepdaughters – Lily, 13 and Caroline, 10. I am so blessed to have these young ladies in my life. They are wonderful daughters and fabulous siblings.
I don’t consider it super important to mention, but I have Multiple Sclerosis – MS (nothing more needed about that at this time…but I am sure it will make its way into posts down the line).
I have some great ideas for this blog. And when those ideas run out, well, I guess I will figure it out as we go along. What I do know is that I am happy to have my little place here in cyberspace and even happier that you took the time to visit www.HappilyEverLaughterBlog.com. This is going to be an interesting journey, and I hope you will continue along for the ride. I may be terrible with directions, but the open “blogosphere” road is mine for the navigating. #LetsDoThis
